Eugene MEGNASSAN

University of Abobo-Adjame

Eugene Megnassan was born in July 1958 in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) and graduated in Physics and Chemistry to his PhD (May 1986) in Electro-optics and Molecular electrostatics at University of Côte d’Ivoire. His scientific field expanded to Molecular Modelling and Intermolecular Forces in solutions to graduate in Doctorate (Docteur d’État, February 1998 i.e. Habilitation) at the same University.


As Associate scientist of Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP/UNESCO, Trieste, Italy, 2000 – 2005) he was awarded an International Centre for Science and High Technology (ICS/UNIDO, Area Science Park, Trieste, Italy) fellowship in Molecular Modeling and Computer-Assisted Combinatorial Chemistry (CACC) and Structure-Based Drug Design (SBDD) of Antimalarial, Anti Tuberculotic and Anti Dengue fever Agents (2006 – 2007). 


He has been employed by UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as International Consultant in Rational Drug Design and Development (2008 – 2009). 


He is Professor and Head of the Fundamental and Applied Physics Laboratory of University NANGUI ABROGOUA and ICTP Senior Associate scientist. He co-authored 40 papers and coached 12 PhD.
