Dr. Tabll has good experience in cell culture techniques, particularly in the establishment of cell lines for the production of mouse monoclonal antibodies for immuno-diagnosis and cell line production of human monoclonal antibodies for immunotherapy. He also has good experience in the applications of flow cytometry (cell cycle analysis and cell surface markers (immunophenotyping and cell sorting). In the last 10 years, Dr. Tablls’ research has focused on vaccine development against hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, and the production of diagnostic and therapeutic monoclonal antibodies. Currently, he is a member of several projects related to viral immunology of SARS-COV-2 focusing mainly on immunodiagnosis and immunotherapy of COVID-19. Dr. Tabll visited the USA twice, as a postdoc (Connecticut Health Center in 2006 for 6 months, and Yale University in 2013-2014 as a visiting
professor for 6 months). He was awarded a scholarship funded by DAAD as a postdoc at the virology institute in Essen, Germany, in 2010 and Gottingen University in 2012, funded by STDF. Dr. Tabll presented his research findings at international workshops and conferences in France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany (2010, 2012, and 2013), Turkey, Croatia (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019), Japan, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia (2017, 2018).Dr. Tabll was, also, awarded the Egyptian State Encouragement Prize in biological sciences in 2004 and the National Research Center Prize for Scientific Excellence in Advanced Technological Sciences serving the medical fields in 2018. Dr. Tabll has published more than 74 international articles in different reputable journals. He was a PI, Co-PI, and member of several local and international projects, particularly in the viral immunology of HCV, SARS COV-2 infections. Dr. Tabll has supervised several M.Sc. and Ph. Ds affiliated with different faculties and disciplines and was also an examiner for local and international project proposals. Moreover, he was an examiner for several promotional committees for associate professor (s) promotions (internationally). Dr. Tabll is a member of the promotion committee for biological science in Egypt. Dr. Tabll established his scientific school in the National Research Centre and supervised several masters and PhD degrees, and a lot of his students were awarded scientific prizes (two women from NRC). Moreover, currently, Dr. Tabll is a consultant (part time) in the Immunology department at the Egypt Center for Research and Regenerative Medicine (ECRRM) (formerly known as NAMRU- 3).
