Bin Duan (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in automation and the Ph.D. degree in control theory and control engineering from Shandong University, Jinan, China, in 2005 and 2010, respectively. In 2010, he joined Shandong University, where he is currently a Professor, Young Changjiang Scholar, and Qilu Youth Talent Scholar with the School of Control Science and Engineering. He is the Standing director of IEEE PES China Energy Storage System and Equipment Technology Subcommittee, Executive Director of Power Battery Technology Subcommittee; the Member of Technical Committee on Vehicle Control and Intelligence. He serves as a guest editor of Special Issue Advances in Lithium Battery Charging in Symmetry and Special Issue Modeling and Optimization Control of Power Battery in Energies.
His research interests include advanced control theory methods and power electronics technology in the field of new energy power generation, energy storage and so on. In the past five years, he has participated or hosted projects more than 20, include the National Major Scientific Research Instrument Program, Key Program of China Auto Industry Innovation Development Joint Foundation, National Key R&D Program, National Natural Science Foundation, Key R&D Program of Shandong Province (Major Key Technology) and so on. He published over 80 papers on IEEE Transactions, Applied energy, etc. He has been authorized 35 national invention patents and 4 PCT patents, 1 American invention patents.
He was awarded several Prizes for Science and Technology Progress (STP)and Education, such as the Second Prize of National STP, First Prize of Shandong STP, First Prize of Shandong Patent Award, First Prize of Natural Science of Chinese Society of Automation, and the Second Prize of National Teaching Achievement, and so on.
