Dr Mishra held the position of Head, Radiation Biology and Health Sciences Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Center, govt of India. After his superannuation, he was invited as Adjunct Professor at Department of Life Science, University of Mumbai and at the Institute of Technology, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), India and Visiting Professor at University of Hiroshima, Japan. He was honored with the invitation to hold the position of Vice Chancellor, Nehru Gram Bharti University ( a Deemed University), Allahabad (2010-2014).
Elected a Fellow of National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), Fellow of Maharashtra Academy of Science and Fellow of International Academy of Physical Sciences (IAPSci). Founder President, Society of Radiation Researchers, India, President, Asian Association of Radiation Research (AARR), President, Indian Biophysical Society, President, Foundation for Education and Research, India, Council Member, International Association of Radiation Research (IARR), USA. Visiting Professor at New York University, USA, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, University of Bielefeld, Germany, University of Kyoto and Nagoya University, Japan, KAERI, South Korea, University of Moscow, Russia, University of Rome, Italy, University of Sydney, Australia
Honored with the Life Time Achievement Award of Indian Society for Radiation Biology, Distinguished Visiting Faculty Award of Institute of Medical Science, Semipalanisk Medical Academy, Kazakhstan, Distinguished Service Award of International EPR Society and many other awards. Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Radiation and Cancer Research (JRCR) and is serving on the Editorial Board of prestigious scientific Journals such as IJRB, WJR, JEPTO, JPBB and others.
Guided successfully more than 50 Ph.D. students from Universities of India and abroad. Published about 300 research papers in refereed National and International Journals , most of which are available on web space Served as an Expert in International Atomic Energy Agency ( IAEA), Vienna, World Health Organization (WHO )and other international bodies. Currently Emeritus Professor, B.M.International Research Center, Jain Vishwa Bharti Institute( a deemed-to-be University), Rajasthan.
