Beatriz Valle

University of the Basque Country

Dr. Beatriz Valle is a senior research fellow at the Catalytic Processes and Waste Valorization group (CPWV) of the University of the Basque Country (Spain). She is specialized in the development of thermal and catalytic processes for sustainable production of hydrogen, fuels and value-added chemicals from renewable feedstock (Bio-refinery).


She received her PhD degree with honors in Chemical Engineering in 2008, and since then she has participated in 15 research projects funded in competitive calls at regional, national and international level. In recent years, she has focused on the production of fuels and raw materials by catalytic cracking of biomass pyrolysis liquid, leading a 3-year research project as Principal Investigator. She is co-author of 60 publications in international scientific journals (41 Q1, 20 first author) and more than 100 contributions in national and international conferences. The good quality of her scientific production is supported by the Scopus metrics (h-index of 29 and more than 2700 total citations). Her experience in supervision of research includes co-direction of two PhD Dissertations and several BS Degree Final Projects, awarded with the highest Excellent-Cum Laude qualifications.


She collaborates as reviewer in outstanding ELSEVIER and ACS scientific journals, and serves as editorial board member and guest editor in several international peer-reviewed journals. In addition, she has been member of PhD Dissertation Committees, and organizing/scientific committees of international conferences.
